According to historical sources, Radeče was once the principal port by the Sava river. The customs and traditions of travelling by raft are being kept alive today as a tourist attraction by the event »Dnevi splavarjenja na Savi« (Days of rafting on the Sava). The most distinguishing feature of Radeče is the iron bridge over the Sava river, built in the days of Austria-Hungary. Once the third largest bridge in the monarchy, it is still one of the most impressive constructions in Slovenia. The area also boasts the largest Slovenian chestnut tree and the famous Svibno castle.
