Prevalje

Prevalje is a border municipality whose central region is crossed by the Meža river. Once connected to the development of the iron industry, today the city is known for its well-developed trade and catering business. Iron sculptures are now only a monument to what was once the most modern ironworks in this part of Europe.The identity of the area is strengthened by many cultural activities. Bralna značka (The reading badge) – a Slovenian cultural treasure and organizational speciality - originated at the Prevalje primary school.
