Jovsi is one of the more important wetlands and at the same time one of the better preserved regions of swampy and wet grasslands with a rich structure of hedges, lone trees and brush. The flood plain is located in the lower part of the Sotla river basin, at the base of Kapelske gorice.

The Koščeva pot trail starts in Kapele and is probably the best way to see and explore Jovsi.

Because of its extraordinary floral, ornithological and landscape significance, the area has been declared a protected natural monument.
