Ptujska gora stands among the Haloze hills which offer an excellent view in all directions. Once also called Črna gora or Marijina nova štifta, it is now mostly known for the pilgrimage Church of Our Lady. Stairs lead from the large village square to one of the most beautiful gothic churches in Slovenia.

The exterior of the building is decorated with gradated columns, and the entrance is covered by a relief of Mary's death..

The church's extremely beautiful gothic furnishings include a stone relief of Mary the Protector with a mantle in the large altar and side altars decorated by floral ornaments. Ptujska gora is a popular destination for hikers and cyclists.
