Slovene winemakers at Vinitaly 2012
From Sunday, 25th- 28th of March world most important wine and spirits exhibitiontook place in Verona, Italy. The city of Romeo&Juliet hosted 156.000 visitors of Vinitaly that came from 120 countries. Within 4 days of fair also Slovene winemakers presented their top quallity wine.
My degustation included Ribolla Gialla and Ribolla Gialla Spumante brut by Casa Zuliana (ITA), Chardonnay by Perusini (ITA), Gräfin de la Tour by Villa Russiz (ITA) and Ribolla Gialla by Ščurek (SLO). Other winemakers that got attention from visitors were Goriška Brda Wine Cellar(SLO) with their award winning Chardonnay Bagueri, Marjan Simčič (SLO) with his Ribolla and Sauvignonasse, Family Winery Jakončič (SLO) and Movia by Mirko and Aleš Kristančič (SLO) within Vivit, Palaexpo.
The Slovene wine presenters on the fair once again surprised me with kindness, professionalism, various language skills and overall presentation. The character of Slovenians reflects also in wine.
