Pension Mayer is just a stone's throw away from the banks of idyllic Lake Bled; and just a hop, a skip and a jump from the bottom of Straza mountain that stands proudly over the Lake. With this ideal location, you could say Pension Mayer is in the heart of Bled, never more than a short walk from the action!
At the same time the actual house, built over a century ago in 1888, offers visitors all the peace, quiet and privacy that they may wish for.
The Pension retains many period features, but has been renovated to provide cosy comfort and service to those staying in Lake Bled.
Pension Mayer also prides itself in offering you the opportunity to experience some superb culinary delights accompanied by fine wines from our extensive wine cellar.

The Restaurant
A joy is a joy! Your weight ...? The kilograms on or off? Never mind, this is not a question to be. Nevertheless you will be kindly convinced not to worry about this question of fact to be bay all the Mayer's to begin from the cook onwards.

In our restaurant you will just love tucking in to Slovene national specialities; in season you can try our "koline" pork and sausage specialities; alternatively you may choose a fresh trout from our local source. After dinner you can finish with homemade "skutini strukli", a delicious pastry dish filled with fresh cheese curd. Of course, if you prefer, our first-class chefs will prepare exquisite dishes for you from a wide range of international cuisine.
Good food isn't the same without good quality wine, but that's another story!
The Wine Cellar
In recent years, Slovenia has become more and more well known for its wines.
Starting in the north-east of Slovenia, you find the Maribor and Ormozh vineyards, home of golden Renski Riesling.
Moving south, we come to Dolenjska region, home of light red, drinkable "Cvicek".
Travelling West we enter Primorska region, best known for its rich red wines, Refosk and Merlot.
A little further north-west we finally come to the famous Vipava valley, vineyards of choice of the Hapsburgs.
Yes, you can enjoy a tour of Slovene wine country from within our cellar!
