Cerkno

Cerkno is the center of the Cerkljanska region between the Alps and the sea, in the Cerknica and Idrijca river basins. The rolling landscape offers many opportunities for short or long walks, all-day mountain hikes along marked trails and organized sports. Cerkno and its surroundings are also interesting – tourists can visit the Cerkno museum, the partisan hospital Franja, the Divje babe archeological park… During the winter, the Cerkno ski center and the traditional laufarija carnival attract plenty of visitors.
