Tromostovje (the Triple Bridge) - presentation
Plečnik's Triple Bridge spans the Ljubljanica river and is one of the symbols of Ljubljana. The central bridge, which replaced an older wooden bridge, was built in 1842. Since the area in front of the church and the city gates has always been crowded, Plečnik added two pedestrian bridges in the years 1929/30.
On the right bank, these two bridges touch the central bridge at an angle. The Gerber stairway leads down to the river bank. From the central bridge, Stritarjeva street leads between the Kresija building and the Filip mansion to the City hall.
