Description of path

The route begins at the church in Trebnje. From there, head in the direction of Žužemberk. In Štefan, turn left toward Žužemberk and continue along the main road through the villages of Občine, Mala vas (where the birthplace of Baraga is located), Knežja vas and Železna. You should eventually arrive in Dobrnič. Then, turn left toward Mirna Peč. Proceed along the main road to Artmanja vas and turn left at the intersection. Turn left again in the village of Vrbovec, down a lightly ascending main road. You should reach Rdeči Kal. In the intersection, continue forward past a pub. Ride down a paved road to Jordankal, then continue straight through the village via an asphalt road. At the intersection by the church in Mirna Peč, turn left toward Trebnje. On the left side of the road, you will see a road marked with a sign for Zijalo, the source of the Temenica river (a kilometer-long asphalt road through the village of Jelše and then downward through a forest). A few meters farther, to the right, you can turn left onto a side road going up to St. Anne. This is a difficult ascent that is about seven hundred meters long - six hundred meters of asphalt and a hundred meters of a grassy path. You will arrive at the village of Ponikve, where you should take a left at the intersection, to Dečja vas. In Dečja vas, pass the church and turn right at the intersection, toward Repče (there should be a signpost at the intersection as well). At the intersection in the forest (by the sign for Šmaver), turn to the right, uphill, then turn right by the church in the centre of Šmaver and take the main road up a slope. You should eventually get to Gorenji Vrh. In the centre of the village, there is a monument to those who fell in World War 2 (Jože Slak Silvo). Pass by the right side of the monument and continue your journey toward Repče. When you get to Repče, turn left by house no.9 toward Vrhtrebnje (the road begins to slope upward here) and right at the next intersection. Descend through the village of Vrhtrebnje.Turn right and continue your descent into the valley, back toward Trebnje.
