Vuzenica lies at the confluence of Drava and Cerkvenice, beneath the northern slopes of forest-covered Pohorje. The city's greatest historical landmark is the Vuzenica castle, but it also boasts many religious monuments. Numerous traditional fairs are regularly held in the area. Today, the wooden buildings with many decorative details are a monument to folk architecture and a witness to a way of life – the Pober house, the Levovnik homestead and the smokehouse at Sabodin still stand today. A well-marked Forest trail connects all these places with the mysteries of nature.
