Veržej

Veržej lies on the Mura plain, on the right bank of the Mura river. Settled in the ancient times, it is the largest rural town on the right bank of the Mura river and proudly displays its natural and cultural treasures. It is the birth place of composer Slavko Osterc, the site of the only mill on the Mura river, and the home of cheerful, playful people. Plenty of catering establishments nicely round out the tourism opportunities of the municipality.
