The municipality Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici lies in the far northeastern part of Slovenia, at the edge of Slovenske gorice. In the west, vineyard-covered hills descend to the valley of the Ščavnica river while the fertile fields in the east gradually give way to the Pannonian plain. The mainly rural inhabitants of the low lands mainly pursue agriculture and animal husbandry, while wine production is also popular in the hills of the municipality. The mainly unspoiled nature is an ideal place for walking, cycling and other forms of active relaxation.
