Miklavž na Dravskem polju lies on the Drava plain, at the border between the subpannonian and subalpine parts of northeastern Slovenia. The Drava plain is surrounded by Pohorje in the west, the Drava valley in the far northwest and Slovenske gorice in the north and east. To the south, it gradually gives way to the Ptuj plain.
