Log - Dragomer

The municipality Log – Dragomer lies by the old main road from Ljubljana to Vrhnika, on the outskirts of the Ljubljana moor. The northern part of the municipality stretches all the way to the base of the Polhograjsko hribovje hills. It is far from the hustle and bustle of the main city, and yet close enough to be almost a part of Ljubljana. The area's history is dominated by the heritage of the Romans. A sarcophagus and milestone near the old Vrbič house are all that is left of the once famous Roman outpost at the Ninth milestone. The swampy plains are covered by an endless mosaic of meadows, fields, brooks and ditches that provide a home to numerous species of flora and fauna, including several vulnerable and endangered ones.
