The Cirkulane municipality covers the eastern part of Haloze by the Slovenian-Croatian border. Once known as St. Barbara, the area was shaped by the Bela stream with its tributaries. The rolling landscape is covered by vineyards, forests, meadows and fields. The most recognizable local attraction is difinitely Castle Borl, and many religious buildings complete the municipality's cultural heritage.
