The Špitalič tourist society is based in the valley of St. John the Baptist. Over 800 years ago, the Carthusians left their mark on the valley by establishing the first Carthusian monastery in the Slovenian area. Incredibly enough, the valley has remained pristine and untouched since the arrival of the Carthusians. Here, nature is still alive and well. Here, you can hear the silence and feel at peace.
