The popular, cozy Francl restaurant can be found in Zagrad, beneath the mighty Celje castle. We are known for our friendly attitude and delicious food, with innovative cuisine that changes depending on the time of the year and the gifts nature is offering.
We can make a wonderful marinated tongue, beef with salad, beef soup or mushroom soup. Our house specialty is beef soup with liver balls. There are also different porridges, frog legs, snails au gratin, spelt dishes, mangold rolls etc.
We offer many, many delicious types of štruklji (boiled pastry rolls with filling): rye, whole wheat with curd, herbal, buckwheat with smoked meat… But of course, our meat, herbal or mushroom dumplings are no less delightful. There are even plenty of meat dishes to make your mouth water, such as the netted roast, the Zagrad trout and many more. We especially recommend the horse steak.
Salads are made with seasonal vegetable. Some desserts worth mentioning are various rolls and blueberry pastries with walnuts, buckwheat štruklji with walnuts, plum dumplings and curd štruklji au gratin.
