In 2005, the port of Koper obtained a new port passenger terminal. Slovenia has now carefully cultivated an image of a new, attractive, undiscovered destination for cruises around the Adriatic and Mediterranean seas. The goal of the port is to become the leading port for central European passengers. It boasts 420 meters of coastline for mooring passenger ships and, since 2009, a modern passenger terminal building.
