Žirovnica

The Žirovnica municipality sits at the juncture of the Ljubljana basin and the Karavanke mountain chain. Covered by many walking and hiking trails, the Karavanke area is perfect for hiking and mountaineering, and Žirovnica is an excellent starting point for a journey to one of the nearby mountain lodges. The landscape offers many paths, both for recreational and for mountain cycling. The municipality is also known for its rich cultural and historical heritage as well as the "Cultural heritage trail", which runs from Vrba to Moste and connects the birthplaces of our famous countrymen with other cultural and natural landmarks in the municipality.
