Sevnica

The Sevnica municipality lies at the confluence of the Sava and Mirna rivers. In the north and northeast, it borders the slopes of Veliko Kozje, Lisca and Bohorje, and in the south it ends at the Dolenjska hills. The architecture of the medieval Sevnica Castle is a silent witness to ages past. Next to the castle, visitors can admire one of the most beautiful Renaissance monuments – the Lutheran cellar (Lutrova klet). Numerous idyllic churches tell stories as old as life itself. The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for wonderful trips, hiking, picnics, fishing and cycling.
