Krško

Krško stands at the spot where the Sava river valley widens into the vast Krško polje plain. History can be seen here at every step through the rich cultural and historical heritage. The Ajdovska jama cave offers evidence about the life of the Neolithic man, and the remnants of Neviodunum tell their own story. Krško is connected to many important men who shaped Slovenian history - Adam Bohorič, Jurij Dalmatin, Primož Trubar and Janez Vajkard Valvasor. The hard-working locals have turned the sunny hillsides into vineyards. Besides cviček, many high-quality wines are ripening in the deep cellars.
