The doors of banks and exchange offices usually open at 9am and close at 5pm on weekdays. Most banks are closed from noon to 2pm. On Saturdays, only major banks are open, and only from 8am to 11am. With the exception of exchange offices at border crossings, all financial institutions are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Government institutions open at 8am and close at 3pm (5pm on Wednesdays). On Saturdays, all institutions with the exception of post offices and some banks are closed. Major post offices are usually open from 7am to 8pm on weekdays and to 1pm on Saturdays.
Stores have varying opening times. Some grocery stores open as early as 6 or 7 in the morning. Shopping centers open their doors at 8am or 9am and close between 7 and 8 in the evening. On Saturdays, stores are only open in the mornings (until around 1pm). On Sundays, only a few stores are open.
Marketplace in major cities begin working between 6 and 7 in the morning. Sellers usually pack up their goods between 1pm and 3pm.
Some catering establishments open as early as 6am, but most of them open at 7. They close between 10pm and 11pm with the exception of clubs, discos, night bars and very popular establishments. Most inns and restaurants are also open on Sundays and holidays, but they are usually closed at least one day a week.
Museums, galleries and other tourist attractions (parks, caves) usually open between 9-10am and close around 6pm. They are also open on Saturdays and Sundays. During the quiet winter months, some museums either have shorter opening times or are only open on weekends.
Tourist agencies and tourist information centers usually open at 8am or 9am and close at 6pm or 7pm.
In tourist centers, major traffic areas and at border crossings, opening hours usually change during the tourist season.
