Guide to Slovenia, Useful information

In Slovenia, 220V/50Hz AC voltage is used. Sockets have two round pins and are of the type used all over Europe. If you need them, stores with electrical goods also carry voltage converters.

Slovenia uses the metric system. Distances between places are expressed in kilometers. In stores and marketplaces, foodstuffs are sold by weight or sometimes by piece. When buying things by weight, kilograms (kg) or decagrams (dag) are used (50 dag = 0.5 kg). When ordering drinks, the usual size is 2 or 3 decilitres (dcl). Temperature is measured in degrees Celsius.
