Velenje

The Velenje municipality lies in the eastern Šaleška dolina valley. The valley of the Paka river represents the central part of the municipality, and hills line its northern edge. Velenje is the economic center of the Savinjsko-Šaleška region with well-developed commerce and other administrative, educational and other activities. It is a city of lakes, but also boasts a rich natural, cultural and historical heritage.
