Municipality Slovenske Konjice |
 |
Slovenske Konjice, a city with 850 years of history, represents the center of the upper Dravinja valley. It lies between the vineyards of Škalce and the forests of Konjiška gora. The oldest building in the municipality, the gothic church of St. George, dates back to the first millennium AD. The Trebnik manor house was built in the Middle ages and still stands today. It has been converted into a carriage museum and a herbal goods production/sales center. The most valuable treasure of the municipality's rich cultural-historical heritage can be found at Špitalič - Žička kartuzija, the oldest Carthusian monastery in Europe.
