Cerknica

Cerknica is home to one of Slovenia's most famous attractions – the intermittent Cerknica lake. A presentation of this natural wonder, which surprises visitors throughout the year with its changing appearance, can be seen at the Jezerski hram museum. You'll also find a model there that explains the creation of the lake and the workings of the numerous swallow holes. The area boasts many sights and activities that attract cyclists, fishermen, ornithologists, horseback riders, hikers and plenty of other people. Sevnica is a popular nearby lookout point.
