Ravne na Koroškem was built up by the lower part of the Meža river, beneath the mighty Uršlja gora mountain. Known for centuries of iron and steel industry, the city was known as Guštanj until the end of World War II. The greatest spectacle in Ravne are the unique steel art sculptures Forma viva. A key part of the tourist trade are trips with an emphasis on historical heritage and natural beauty, sports and recreation in nature and agricultural tourism with many welcoming tourist farms.
