Jesenice

The beginnings of the city of Jesenice are closely linked to the development of foundries along the Sava river. The foundries and ironworks give this city beneath Mežakla the appearance of an industrial city. But only a short distance from the city, the warm embrace of nature awaits. There is a natural bridge beneath the northern edge of Mežakla, and the lone rock Poljanska Baba stands out on the eastern slope. Golica, one of the greenest and most noticeable mountains in the Karavanke range, is famous for its daffodil fields, and its rocky ridges are dotted with mountain flowers. The Zois park in the Karavanke mountains is covered with traces of life in the past.
