Šentrupert lies on the plains of the Bistrica stream,
in the Mirna valley. Its appearance is characterized by the majestic Gothic
church of St. Rupert, considered to be one of Slovenia's most beautiful
churches. Surrounded by vineyard-covered hills, it is truly a great place to
visit. A picturesque path with the Stations of the Cross leads to the famous
pilgrimage church atop Vesela gora, and the church itself is decorated by
exceptional woodcuts. Šrkljevo castle is shrouded in a veil of mystery, and the
valley is adorned by typical stone bridges.
