Piran

The Piran municipality covers the far northeastern part of the Istra peninsula. It consists of medieval Piran, modern Portorož, the tourist villages of Lucija, Strunjan and Sečovlje as well as the villages in the rear of Slovenian Istra. Even today, the ancient local method of salt production is truly something special in the Mediterranean region. This amazing part of the Slovenian cultural heritage is intertwined with a rich natural heritage at the Sečovlje nature park.
