Vipava

Lying beneath the slopes of Nanos, Vipava covers the upper part of the Vipva valley. It is a place of many images, waters, castles and a rich history. Small villages scattered over the hills and valleys provide a picturesque image of a sunny land with a relatively mild climate... though it is occasionally gripped by the mighty Vipava bora winds. These have greatly influenced the local architecture, which is particularly well-preserved in Goče. Only a kilometer from Vipava stands the famous Zemono manor. Mlake is a true ecological treasure essential to maintaining biotic diversity.
