Nova Gorica

Nova Gorica, also known as the city of roses, is a young, modern and rapidly developing city by the Italian border. The area is known far and wide for the Franciscan monastery atop Kostanjevica and the pilgrimages to the Sveta Gora mountain. The famous stone Solkan bridge, with the biggest stone arch bridge, stretches over the emerald-coloured Soča river. In the center of the city you can admire a monument to airman Edvard Rusjan or take a stroll along walking paths and through green parks. At night, the city is suffused in the colourful glow of Hit's casinos.
