The Trenta valley

The horseshoe-shaped Trenta valley cuts deep between the mountains of the upper Soča river. The glaciers and the river have created a picturesque valley with precipitous walls, narrow gorges and waterfalls. The highest waterfall of the Triglav National Park can be found in the Zapotok cirque in Zadnja Trenta (the most distant part of the valley). The Trenta lodge is the information center of the Triglav National park while the Trenta museum showcases the ethnological heritage and the rich, unique cultural and historical tradition of the area.
