In half a century that followed, the Slovenian area was strongly dominated by Romans. The blossoming economy, stable reigning and the particular strategy of constructing the road network as well as the influence of new religions left a most variable picture of the Roman Empire on the Slovenian territory. At the roads the first towns developed, which are still preserved, e.g. Emona (Ljubljana), Celeia (Celje), Poetovio (Ptuj), Castra (Ajdovščina), Neviodunum (Drnovo) to mention only a few. The Roman history on Slovenian grounds became the history of Slovenian towns. Nekropola in Šempeter in the Savinja valley and provincial villas (villae rusticae) with the complete standard required, give the impression that rich Romans who were art lovers lived there. One of the tracks of worshiping God Mitra is Mitrej in Rožanc, Bela krajina.
