Castle Grad Cultural sights, Kuzma - The Prekmurje regionStanding atop a steep basaltic tuff hill, Grad is the largest castle in Slovenia. The baroque building boasts a picturesque inner courtyard surrounded by brick arcades up to two storeys high. A chapel with an attractive baroque bell tower has been added to the castle, and three semicircular towers lean against the defensive wall. Many exotic trees grow in the castle park. A medieval forge where ore was melted has been discovered on the slopes of the castle hill, and south of the castle are the ruins of the counts' crypt. Four castle chambers now house the regional history museum.
