The Bled castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Slovenia, stands high and proud atop a steep cliff above Lake Bled. The buildings of the castle complex have been constructed around two courtyards connected by a stairway. A late gothic chapel with rich 17th century baroque frescoes stands in the upper courtyard. Entry to the castle is through the outer wall with a gothic arch and a drawbridge. Today, the castle houses a display of Bled's fascinating history, a printing press, a cellar and a herb gallery.
