The Kobarid museum is located in the Mašer house in the center of Kobarid and shows the history of the Soča front (more commonly known to historians as the Isonzo front) during the first World War. Numerous exhibits, reliefs of the mountain range, detailed photographs and a multivision presentation tell the story of the bloody battles by the Soča river. Special effort has been made to describe the famous 12th battle (the »Miracle of Kobarid«), one of the largest mountain battles in human history. The Kobarid museum received the highest state award as well as an award from the Council of Europe. Tourists may also wish to visit the Kobarid historical trail which connects the historical and natural landmarks in the vicinity of Kobarid.
