The Bistra monastery sits surrounded by greenery next to the Karst springs in the village of Bistra. The buildings of the complex bear the marks of diferent architectural styles, from the Middle Ages to the late Baroque. Part of the gothic cloister with ribbed arches has been well preserved. One of the wings next to the courtyard contains an arcade hall, and the castle's image is completed by the baroque chapel and rococo portal. Many exhibits of the Technical Museum of Slovenia are on display in Bistra, including forestry, woodworking, hunting, fishing, textiles, agriculture, traffic and mechanical engineering.
