Weather often influences our daily activities, that is why we especially like to pay attention to weather forecasts when planning activities out in the open. Air temperatures change characteristically during the day and the year. The temperatures are highest in July. Slovenian summer is very sunny, and the cool rivers, meadows and forests give you pleasant freshness. In the warm summer months you cannot do without water, and when you come out of the water, the pleasant sun will warm you up. When the summer ends, the rainy fall comes with living colours of the autumn leaves, and then the winter, when the temperatures fall below zero and the icy lake surfaces make excellent skating places. This is also the time for various winter sports that have a very long tradition in Slovenia. When days are longer after the equilibrium, spring again can be noticed from the tree branches, wrapping the country in greenness, and brightening our spirits.
The Environmental Agency of the Republic of Slovenia provides the daily weather forecast and information on the change of whether, and daily weather reports for the next few days are also published regularly in various media.
The key to understanding and forecasting weather is also hidden in old folk wisdom, which is reflected in names of some months (March – sušec, a dry month) as well as in numerous weather proverbs.
